1. What happens if no seats are available?

If your desired grade or class is full, your child will be placed on a waitlist. You’ll be notified if a spot opens up.

2. How will I know my child’s admissions status?

We’ll notify you via email or text message within a week after the admission test.

3. What assessments will my child take as part of the admissions process?

The admissions process includes assessments in core subjects like Math, English, and Arabic. Additionally, an interview with your child and potentially one with you may be required.

4. Will there be an orientation session for new students and families?

Yes, we host an annual orientation session for all new students and their families in August. The session provides valuable information about school policies, expectations, curriculum, and resources.

5. How old does my child need to be to join Riyadh Schools - Al Malqa?

Riyadh Schools - Al Malqa offers classes from Kindergarten to Grade 8.  Specific age requirements for each grade level can be found on our website or by contacting the admissions office.

6. Does my child have to be fluent in English?

Both English and Arabic proficiency are required for admission. Your child will need to demonstrate their skills through the admissions test.

7. Do parents sign a contract of exceptions at the beginning of the year?

Yes, parents/guardians will be required to sign an acceptance of responsibility and student conduct contract at the beginning of the academic year.

9. What are your class sizes?

Our classes typically have between 18-20 students, allowing for personalized attention from teachers.

10. Do students have to wear a school uniform at Riyadh Schools – Al Malqa

Yes, all students are required to wear a school uniform. Information about the uniform and where to purchase it will be provided upon enrollment.

11. What is your curriculum?

Riyadh Schools - Al Malqa follows the American Common Core standards, providing a rigorous and internationally recognized curriculum.

12. What devices do students use?

The devices used vary by grade level:

  • Elementary students: iPads
  • Middle & High School students: Laptops

It is important to note that parents are responsible for providing these devices for their children.

13. Where are the staff from?

Our staff come from various countries around the world. All staff are experienced in American and International programs and hold child protection certificates.

14. Do students have a reading program?

Yes, we have a comprehensive reading program that utilizes various resources such as:

  • Raz-Kids (online reading program)
  • IRead Arabic (Arabic language reading program)
15. Do students have electives?

Yes, students can choose from a variety of elective courses, including:

  • Music
  • Languages (additional languages beyond English and Arabic)
  • Sports
16. Can I schedule a visit to Riyadh Schools - Al Malqa?

Yes, school visits will be available starting at the end of July 2024. Please contact the admissions office to schedule a visit.

17. Where can I find information about Riyadh Schools - Al Malqa’s policies and procedures?

School expectations will be shared with students and parents upon enrollment and by the School Principal during various communications throughout the year.
